Picture(s) A Day – 29 January 2010

I’ll be working today (30 January) and tomorrow, so I needed to get some rest yesterday.  It wasn’t the easiest day at work yesterday and I’ve seldom felt just as worn out as I did last night.  But at least I got to go do something I’ve wanted to do for quite a while :)

I wish the pic was better, but that’s what you get when you’re tryig to drive and get something like this at the same time.  I’ve never seen such a large full moon rising over the mountains as this one last night :)

29 January 2010 - Very nice sunset

Aside from a remarkable moonrise, you really should’ve seen this sunset for yourself 8)

29 January 2010 - New Frontier Armory - Ruger LCR

29 January 2010 - New Frontier Armory - Ruger LCR

Immediately after work last night, I headed on over to New Frontier Armory / Infinite Arms.  Yes, I put down a deposit on a brand new Kel-Tec PF-9 and I still can’t believe the pricing   Prices are subject to change, but I was quoted $260 for the version with the blued slide or $272 for the one with the flat black parkerized slide.  I said I’d take which ever came in first and laid down $100 to hold it   For some contrast, I’ve seen some of the parkerized versions on gunbroker.com listed at $350!

The gun you see above is the Ruger LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver) which lives up to its name and has received some great reviews since its recent introduction.  It weighs only 13 ounces and can carry five rounds of 38 Special +P ammo.  I did seriously consider the LCR, but decided to go with the PF-9 for its slim profile, higher round count, and lower price.  I didn’t get the price while I was at the store, but you can call ‘em if you’re interested or just head over to Gallery of Guns.

While I was at the shop, my friend and co-worker Uli ordered a gun through them via Gallery of Guns and then came down to check out a few things :)  We had a nice chat with Adam who actually owns Infinite Arms and he offered me a deal that I’m still trying to figure out a way to finance.  They’re doing a group buy on .22 suppressors and the deal is unbelievably good   Yes, it’s all legal, so no, I wouldn’t earn a stay in Club Fed

29 January 2010 - Look at what followed me home :P

Adam also gave me a couple of free product samples while I was at the store as well.  No, I didn’t get any free ammo :P  What I did get was two 8oz exploding targets from Star Targets   Those are going to be FUN out in the desert    Star Targets are similar to Tannerite, but are supposed to be a bit bigger bang for your buck.  I can’t wait to try them out!!!

The ammo had just come in and all of it is priced incredibly reasonably.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, Adam is fast becoming one of my favorite guys here in Las Vegas :)  Thanks again, Adam!!!

Yeah, I seriously like this store 8)  Check ‘em out on the internet – Infinite ArmsNew Frontier Armory

Have fun and stay tuned – more will surely be coming up in the future

Hey, I like that Ruger!! :) Something I sooo don’t need!

And for SURE take pictures when you use the new targets. And bec. I don’t know I’m asking, is it like those “exploding” golf balls? I mean, I know those are supposed to be a silly thing — when the golfer hits it, it goes up in a puff of smoke or powder — but you could use something like that out in the desert for practice, right??? Not shotgun, but pistol. No?

    • Kath, it’s OK to get something you just want every once in a while ya know :P Go check out the Ruger near you – if you can find one. They’re kinda popular

The targets are quite a bit more than the golf balls – you’re supposed to stand at least 50 yards away :D I suppose the golf balls could work that way, but I’ve got other fun things like water filled cans :)
