Atlas Shrugs Shining A Light – Government Injecting Politics Into Public Schools

We all start to let our guard down from time to time.  We become complacent.  It’s human nature.

I admit that I’ve been this way in the past, especially regarding politicians.  I was naïve in my hopes that our current President and his merry band of misbehaving delinquents would have learned from the outrage over the kids singing the Obama songs in 2008 & 2009.  Yeah, I was wrong.

From Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs:

ATLAS EXCLUSIVE: Obama Organizing in High School

An Atlas reader, Chuck, has a student in the eleventh grade in an Ohio High School. Her government class passed out this propaganda recruiting paper so students could sign up as interns for Obama’s Organizing for America (OFA is the former mybarackobama.com site.)

Obama is using our public school system to recruit for his Alinsky-inspired private army. Organizing for America is (and I quote) recruiting in our high schools to “build on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda” …………of national socialism.

I find this truly disgusting in the way it was perpetrated and believe it should be taken as a reminder that we can’t relax our vigilance.  And yes, it’s yet another reason that I plan on home schooling my kids in a rural setting if I have any.

Go, read the whole thing, and then read the comments.

Making the change from 2008 a reality in 2010 and beyond — so that’s politics and campaigning right there, isn’t it? And you’re going to use high school kids, who can’t vote, to do this campaigning? Do they have to turn their parents in if they don’t vote the right way?

And how did this even GET in the schools? This scares me completely, truly. Trying to turn kids into zombies on the premise of community activism? NOOO!!

Politics have always been in schools. ESPECIALLY since the hippies and leftists (I know, possible redundancy there) got more than tenure, they BECAME the School Board, the Administration, and a big chunk of the PTA. To believe otherwise is to have spent some time in the few places with the few teachers and principals who are…neutral…or even more conservative…or to have spent time disregarding the Commie-creep that’s been going on for a VERY long time.

BarryO and the Weasels are just more open about it, that’s all.
