Plane Pr0n on a Winter’s DayI had to go to Tehachapi for a doctor’s appointment today. On the way home I had to stop in Mojave. I take the Z612 along with me most of the time, now a days. With the hardware parked at Mojave Airport, it is good thing to do. One of those Ex Air Canada birds is the famous Gimli Glider. It made a dead stick landing at Gimli Manitoba when it ran out of fuel. Gimli is an old RCAF training field. The registration and details are at Airliners.net. Not plane pr0n but here it is anyway. Downtown Cal City, as it were. 3 comments to Plane Pr0n on a Winter’s Day |

Cool stuff there, Glenn – I can always use more plane pr0n
The other pics are cool, too
The first time I saw all the airliners in Mojave I was amazed. I had NO ideer there was a civilian trash-hauler boneyard, let alone one in Mojave.
Buck,
It was usually a conversion/testing place but the dry air proved to be a boon to the Airport/Spaceport. NWA/Delta is parking DC9-30/40 airframes here in the Red Tail colours. Southwest has four older 737-300s on the line behind the funny coloured 767s. There are some DC-10s in varied stages of disassembly next to Ex-KLM 747s.
Not a major boneyard like Marana or Victorville but it does help the local economy in Mojave.
