OK, so I’m the one who likes rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and snow. I get that. At least she sent a picture today 
Severe weather does make for some pretty & interesting pictures, but 2 house fires due to lightning strikes & I just cannot enjoy a storm anymore. Stay safe in your storm chasing, Jeff!

Every now and then we get to see a storm like that. Every now and then. The AF goes bonkers when one is within 25 miles of the field. Usually the storms are close to the mountains around the Eastern Mojave.
Now when I still lived in Kansas, that was a different story!
With all those people out on the flight line, I don’t doubt that the Air Force would have a bit of concern when lightning comes through. Add in the high winds and the hail and it’s no bueno for sure
I’d love to get out in Kansas during storm season sometime
