Picture(s) A Day – 29 October 2010

After a very long week at work, I needed to blow off some steam and go somewhere to be with people whose company I enjoy.  Yeah, I knew you’d just be shocked to find out that I ended up at New Frontier Armory / Infinite Arms :P   I didn’t have my Nikon with me, so I had to make do with my cell phone but I think the pics came out OK

At a time when the economy sucks hardcore, this is one business that most definitely doesn’t suck and is actually expanding    Yep, New Frontier Armory / Infinite Arms knocked down the wall (no firearms were involved!) separating them from the next space over.  This is HUGE for them and I can’t wait to see how it looks when they’ve got it all set to go :D

I usually show pics of guns, but I figured I’d show off a bit of the other stuff they carry    There’s a little bit of a lot of stuff – lock boxes for guns, magazines, slings, camping gear, storable food, and cleaning gear is just some of what you’ll find.  If you want something but don’t see it, make sure to ask ‘em because chances are that they can get it :)

If you’ve never seen a Ruger Charger before, you’re probably wondering just what it is.  A Charger is basically a 10/22 rifle in pistol form.  They can get away with having that short barrel on the receiver because it comes from the factory as a pistol.  If you were to drop the working parts – receiver, barrel, etc. – into a 10/22 rifle stock you’d be manufacturing a short barrel rifle and you’d have to do all the federal paperwork and pay for the tax stamp.  I’m thinking about registering my 10/22 as a short barreled rifle and having the barrel cut down for a few reasons.  It would be nice to be able to swap something like this into a rifle stock and vice versa.

These two pistols are both the same type of gun, but in different finishes.  Sig makes a pretty cool .22 and I like the looks, too.  Yes, they also make them in all black if you like that better :)

Another great .22 pistol is this Walther P-22.  I’m not personally all that fond of the color scheme, but you might like it    Both of these guns make superb hosts for rimfire suppressors as well :)

That’s it for this post – I need some rest    Have a great day
