Sitrep – Frightful Weather In California Means Overtime For Me
This couldn’t have happened at a worse time. The massive rains in California are the worst in something like 10 years. They have also translated to the worst trouble we’ve seen at my place of employment in my memory. Wet weather doesn’t mix well with telecommunications and we’re feeling it big time. We’re not exactly immune from it here in Las Vegas, either. The roads are slicker than you’d believe. I worked from 0700 to 1730 on Monday and today I’ll be working from 0600 to 1900. Wednesday and Thursday look like a repeat of today – 12 hours plus the 1 hour unpaid lunch. Yes, I’ll be getting a nice paycheck at the end of it all, but I could do without the stress. I could also live with this not happening when my brother’s in town to visit this entire week. Posting will be light to non-existent for a while. Thanks for understanding. 15 comments to Sitrep – Frightful Weather In California Means Overtime For Me |

Part of the reason it’s nice to see the paycheck after is bec. that means you’re DONE!!
Kath, we’re never done
I just want a nice vacation to somewhere relaxing with a beach, warm water, and good margaritas
True, bec. your job is like mine — no end in sight!!
But at least you’ll be done with this week.
(Thank goodness!)
Kath, I won’t be done with this week until next Friday – New Year’s Eve – I’m working every day from now until then.
Cerveza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Y cerveza tambien!
I am liking it here in Kansas. The rain on the picture is right over Cal City. And the guys at Edwards are getting wet on the line. But we may have some crappy weather by the end of the week. And I am going to ask for the thirtieth due to the weather. 17 days vacation for the price of eight.
Yay Rah!
High Kath!
I’m glad you’re having a good time!
And it was cold this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
24 with a wind chill of 12. And the crappy stuff will be here tomorrow night.
Glenn, we might have a bit of snow actually Christmas evening, they keep changing it.
Saw where they’re evacuating certain places in California from this weather. That’s got to be hard at Christmas. Hope the storm is done soon, but that means it will move across, heading your way to the midwest.
California is hosed. Can’t say it better while being family friendly. Best of luck to you and Glenn!!!
In more ways than one!
From what I can tell on the news I get here in Wichita, most of the bad stuff is on the other side of the San Gabriel Mountains from us.
At least it’s not 135 degrees on the ramp in summer!
I seem to remember an El Nino winter in SoCal…sounds like your description!
