Voyages on Two Wheels – 31 July 2011 – Weather in Red Rock Canyon

Still catching up and I’ve got another post ready 

31 July 2011 was a Sunday and I’d spent a few hours at the movies with a friend.  Cowboys and Aliens was enjoyable   The weather wasn’t typical Las Vegas that day as we don’t normally see much moisture falling from above.  I’d gone down to Red Rock Harley Davidson to pick up a couple accessories and was on my way home when I looked over toward Red Rock Canyon.  Hmm… That sky looked like it was clearing and the clouds might give it some texture it normally lacks around here

 This is the sight that greeted me as I entered Red Rock Canyon and I loved it

31 July 2011 - A rainbow in my mirror as I leave the rain behind

 Looking back in the left side mirror I noticed a rainbow behind me   I can’t put my finger on just why I like shots like this in a motorcycle mirror, but I always think they look extra cool

31 July 2011 - Rainbow in the clear sky as the storm retreats to the east

 The rain must have either been thrown up and over toward my direction or been falling for a very long time as this rainbow looked like it was suspended in a clear area.

31 July 2011 - Panorama - Leftover clouds on the mountains and red rock

 Last, but not least I got this panorama out at the Red Rock Canyon overlook   It’s rare for it to rain, but we hardly ever see clouds this low in the desert.  I wish there were some way I could’ve ridden through some of that fluffy white stuff (I actually miss fog after moving to Vegas ) so I could enjoy a bit of moisture in the air for a few moments
