Get the Pitch Forks and Torches – The Mayor Sided With Chavez

FOXNews.com – Macon, Ga., Residents Upset by Mayor’s Letter of Solidarity to Hugo Chavez – Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

MACON, Ga. — Some Macon residents have called for demonstrations and boycotts after the mayor of the central Georgia city formally reached out to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez with a declaration of solidarity.

As many of my readers already know, Fidel Castro Hugo Chavez has decided that he not only wants Venezuela to be a Socialist state cast in the model of the former Warsaw Pact nations, he also wants to be President for life. Oh yeah, he also bashes America every chance he gets and likes to call President Bush “The Devil.” He’s threatened us with sending some of the Venezuelan F-16s to China and Russia (they’re ancient Block 15s – like giving GM a 1980s Ford), purchased a bunch of new Russian fighters, and nationalized such industries as telecommunications, utilities and the mainstay of the Venezualan economy – the oil industry.

Understanding all that, think about what the mayor of Macon, GA did in sending Castro Chavez a letter of solidarity. He knowingly gave a tyrannical dictator credibility via a letter that could be and ultimately was used in an anti-American manner during one of Chavez’ speaches.

Make no mistake, the townspeople are angry about this. In fact, I’d say they’re downright P!$$ed about it.

Ronald Johnson, a 71-year-old resident of nearby Houston County, called the move “treasonous” and is urging neighbors to boycott the city’s businesses until Ellis is rebuked by city officials.

“It’s unbelievable that he would do what he’s done,” said Johnson. “That is so wrong.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if the (less than) honorable Mayor was run out of town.
