The Photo BugI think I might have been bitten – again. Yep, it’s the photo bug. I’ve been bitten before, but like most of my hobbies, this one’s somewhat cyclical. I think my recent purchase of a new digital point & shoot camera has something to do with this. The only treatment for a bite by the photo bug is to work through it and though it can be expensive (trust me – I KNOW My collection of working cameras is pretty well stocked, but there’s one place I think it needs to be beefed up – the 35mm SLR department. You see, I did something pretty stupid a while back – I sold my Canon AE-1 Program. I had second thoughts and took my prized zoom lens back from the consignment shop before it went out the door too. Both the camera and the lens were cleaned, lubed, and adjusted (CLA’d) not long before they went into the consignment shop. Thankfully, one of the supervisors at work just happened to have an AE-1 Program that’s been on loan to me for quite a while now I decided to check out Ebay for some idea of the monetary outlay for my chosen equipment and was pleasantly surprised – right around $100.00 I’ll be looking at Ebay for some deals worth buying – prefereably freshly CLA’d – and I’ll let everyone know if I get one soon 2 comments to The Photo Bug |

You may already be aware of this, but most of the Canon EF Lens will work on the dSLR’s. I just got the Rebel XTi. I started out looking at the Digital Rebel on EBay @ $300 and ended up dropping $900 for the Rebel XTi. Once I factored in the cost of film development over a year vs. the amount of frames I really wanted to shoot, it wasn’t hard to go digital.
Randy,
!
.
. I’ll probably get a digital SLR sometime in the not too distant future, but with a limited short term budget I think I’m sticking with film
Thanks for stopping by
I’ve looked at the same thing and while I would love to shoot more, the reality is that I usually use the SLR at a few airshows and museums every year and the digital point and shoot for more of the day to day pictures as it is so much smaller and lighter and does about 75% of what I’m looking to do
One other thing – my 28-210mm zoom lens is an FD mount, so it’s not compatible
Actually, you’ve just given me a great idea for a new post! It should be up soon…
