So, I’ve had my V-Star for nearly two years and it’s been a total blast  That said, I’ve kept a keen eye on the Salt Lake City Cragislist to see if there might be a deal too good to pass up.  That deal finally showed up…

17 March 2013 – My 2007 Roketa 150 scooter!!!

I saw an ad for a 2007 scooter with a 150 cc engine and a CVT (fully automatic) transmission.  The ad said that the bike needed some TLC and a battery.  It said the price was $25.  No, not $250 and not $2,500.

I fired off an email to the seller and found out that yes, the price really was $25, the trouble was a mirror and a battery that needed to be replaced, and she had the title

17 March 2013 – My 2007 Roketa 150 scooter!!!

I borrowed Cindy’s nephew’s minivan and managed to get my scooter down to my place, but loading it took one of the seller’s neighbors to help load it into the minivan and two of my neighbors to unload it.  Just getting it into and out of the minivan was a minor adventure in itself

I drained the gas tank, added some fresh fuel along with some Sea Foam fuel additive, reconnected the glass fuses inline on the battery terminal leads, and hooked up a set of jumper cables from my motorcycle to the scooter battery leads.  The turn signals, emergency flashers, and horn worked, but not the headlight.  Also, the starter turned the engine over slowly.  I found out this isn’t too much to worry about, but I do have some work cut out for me
