21 March 2013 – Scooter (And Motorcycle) Update #3 – Some Good, Some Bad

So, progress continues.  For the most part…

20 March 2013 - I have to fill up the V-Star like this once or twice a week

20 March 2013 – I have to fill up the V-Star like this once or twice a week

I had to actually put gas in the V-Star yesterday.  It’s something that doesn’t happen very often around here.  Aside from my fuel budget (which has been reduced a bit compared to back in Las Vegas), I just don’t have to go too far on a daily basis.  So, yeah, $10 is enough for a week or two :)

20 March 2013 - Done working on the bikes for the night

20 March 2013 – Done working on the bikes for the night

This pic is from last night.  I managed to get the front brake flushed, the handlebar fairing back together, and the marker light back where it should be.  After that, I fired the scooter up and ensured all the lights did what they were supposed to and they did :thumb:  I figured it was a good time to call it a night

Today at lunch, I went home, ate some leftover Chinese food from last night, and tried to do a bit on the scooter.  I got some of the bodywork off and was going to try to put a hose on.  I found that there is a probable vacuum leak where the exhaust gas is recirculated into the intake.  I wanted to fire it up to double check something, but for some reason there was no power at all.  It was like the battery was disconnected.  I tried hooking up the jump leads from my car to the scooter battery, but still nothing  :cloud:

I had to go back to work at this point, so I stuck the scooter back under the deck.  I’ll get it back into it tonight and see if maybe there’s a problem with a fuse on a battery lead or something.  I’m just hoping it’s quick, simple, and easy to fix!  Wish me luck
