Picture A Day – 30 March 2009It’s legal in Nevada to do lots of things. You can own machineguns, silencers, even a brothel. While I would love a machinegun or silencer, I’ll leave the brothels and their business to others. Something else that’s legal in Nevada that I’ll leave to others is venomous reptile ownership. The albino western diamondbacks at Exotic Pets are fascinating animals that I think are also very beautiful, but I don’t see one ever sharing my place of residence. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to take a chance on being bitten. Even if the bite is very survivable (and thinking of survivability being less than 100% is bad enough), rattlesnake venom is a hemotoxin which is nasty stuff I had stopped by Exotic Pets to tell them that yes, I will be picking Ziva the corn snake up tomorrow after work and to re-check some prices and whatnot. I got to pull Ziva out of her container and hold her for a while which brought her temperature up quite a ways and (here’s something for Kath to laugh at I still can’t wait to bring her home tomorrow 4 comments to Picture A Day – 30 March 2009 |

Dear Lord in Heaven — snake pooh???? Snake pooh??
You’re killing me here, you’re killing me!! Giant, giant, giant, giant I-C-K!!!!!
Kath,
You’re not far off from my response to the situation
I was trying to find a good side to everything and figured at least she’s eating and healthy
I will be perfectly happy if it never ever happens again as long as I’m around snakes
How do you know she’s not pregnant? That’ll be next. Oh, my goodness. ;(
Kath,
She’s still just a baby and won’t be able to lay eggs until about two years from now
