Longleat Meerkats take photos of themselves – Telegraph

Ian Turner, deputy head warden at the park, and the man whose left his camera in the enclosure while taking images for a new brochure, said he was amazed to discover the images on the digital memory card.
“They are some of the more inquisitive creatures here at Longleat and will generally get their nose and paws into most things,” he said.
“But to actually get up to the camera and even take a family portrait is quite incredible.”
I’ve gotta say that I’m not all that surprised that the camera was operated by this animal – just ask anyone with a ferret what they’re capable of
. That said, I agree that it is rather remarkable that the meerkat in question got some of the others in the frame
. I say we put some other technology like an Ipod in the enclosure with ‘em and see what happens.
One other thought – If Canon doesn’t use at least one of these pictures in a marketing campaign they need to have their heads examined
