History Teacher Renounces U.S. Citizenship – Asks 14 Year Old Students and Parents To Join Him

Stop The ACLU » Blog Archive » ‘History’ Teacher Asks 14-Year-Olds to Renounce U.S. Citizenship

“After careful consideration of the facts of our current situation, I have decided to announce to everyone that I am no longer a citizen of the United States, but a free and independent member of the global community,” it (the teacher’s letter to parents) read.

Parent Michael Hill of Chico tells reporters, “The lesson being taught in class was that the U.S. kidnaps innocent people and takes them to Cuba, where they are kept indefinitely and tortured.”

Hill went on to say that his daughter, “broke into tears when she talked about Brooks mentioning illegal wiretaps and other surveillance directed against innocent people.”

Yet another teacher corrupting the youth of America. I’ve about had it with this BS. It’s not really new, either, in case you were wondering.

Back in high school, I had a teacher named Mrs. Bob (and yes, we made fun of her name) for U.S. history. I had many problems with the way she taught the class. 65% of your grade was homework, so even if you flunked every test, you could pass if you did the homework. All tests were “open notes” and it took the better part of the semester for her to declare that photocopies of the text book would be disallowed. Aside from the purely academic issues, Mrs. Bob was kind enough to tell us that if Hillary’s health care plan didn’t pass, “there’d be no one to take care of us” when we got older. Uh huh. Oh yeah, we needed to drastically raise taxes to afford to help all the homeless people because the rich people won’t do it and government needs to. Right. I had fun deconstructing her point by point and the “oohs” and “aaaaahs” from my classmates were very gratifying when they realized I’d just turned her communist/socialist BS on its head.

If you’re teaching history, teach history. Heck, bring in current events – they’re history in the making. All I ask is that you not attempt to inject your ideology into our kids’ minds. That’s the parents’ job.

One other thing – if you’re renouncing your citizenship, you’re also renouncing your claims to social security, medical care, and all the rest, right? As a “free and independent member of the global community,” I suggest you take up residence at the U.N. if they’ll have you. Actually, they’d probably welcome you with open arms… While you’re at it, would you mind leaving the country so someone who acutally wants to be a citizen can take your place?

Couldn’t have said it any better – well said! And a good site to read through by the way. My first visit, I’ll be back!

Thanks for the kind words and the link :D ! I’ll try to live up to my goal of writing at least one post per day and writing something worth reading :) . It certainly helps knowing people are out there who read it 8) .

    Have a great day!
