Picture(s) A Day – 27 May 2009Yes, I’m up a bit late, but it’s for a good purpose – I’ve been working on another slide show movie Still, I owe y’all some pictures don’t I? In that case, let’s get to ‘em I saw this Jeep when I stopped at the gas station on my way to work and just had to get a picture Due to lack of funding, it’s been several months since Trevor (yes, for those who don’t know I named my car after a character in a Jimmy Buffett book) has had a bath and I just couldn’t stand it anymore. She looks so good in the sun when she’s clean I’ve shown pictures of one of these before, but it was a bit different. There are quite a few flash flood retention basins around town to keep more stuff from washing away than can be helped when it rains in the monsoon season. I’ve seen over two inches of rain fall in about 30 minutes and it all has to go somewhere. I like this idea as long as no rain is forecast. Just across the street from the park, there’s another retention basin that hasn’t been “improved.” And one more taken especially for Kath Here’s hoping you like these Anyway, I’m off to catch the late show on the backs of my eyelids. Have a GREAT day 4 comments to Picture(s) A Day – 27 May 2009 |

Have to guess that was Barbie’s Jeep. Was Ken pumping the gas? (Yes, I’m rolling my eyes at that one!!)
And thank you for that last photo, that just looks like such a nice area.
I’m not really sure I understand — they have elec. lights and grass and soccer goals and yet the place is supposed to fill up with water? Or the water stays outside of that and is guided somewhere else?
Kath,
Barbie was pumping the gas and all alone
No problemo on the last pic
You’ve got it right the first time – the place fills up with water. They only expect this to happen every few years and it should all be OK once it dries out
And I forgot to say your car looks good all clean. I am making no comment on naming it, tho. I know another blogger person that did that, too.
Men.
Glad you like the color, too
Guys aren’t the only ones who name their cars – Adrienne’s named all of hers and I’m almost certain Sifrona has, too
