I can’t say enough how much this vehicle appeals to me
!
The looks alone were enough to start me drooling with the sci-fi like lines. Add in the way the doors open and I’m hooked! Then there’s the fuel economy - 230 miles per gallon at 55 miles per gallon
!!!
I’m not normally all that excited by hybrid cars - the excessively high cost usually ruins any thoughts I might have had about savings at the pump. The Aptera is different in a few ways. First off, it’s only supposed to cost $20,000. Second, you plug it in to charge the batteries instead of having to use regenerative braking and engine power to charge up a typical hybrid’s batteries.
Then there’s that fuel economy again. At 230 miles per gallon, I would only use about five gallons per month instead of my current forty plus. At three dollars per gallon, that’s a savings of $115 per month which would significantly impact the monthly car payment in a good way
.
My only problem is the apparent lack of cargo space. I have times when I get the idea to go off on a new hobby. Some of them have in the past and will likely in the future require transportation of large items such as a five foot long airplane fuselage and a couple of three foot wing panels, surfboards, and rocket launch rods.
I still think I might have to buy one
