My apologies, but today was just brutal at work for lots of reasons I don’t want to go into here.  Let’s just say that about the only thing I could do to get back to something like “normal” was to clean up another rifle.

7 July 2009 - K-31 Swiss Army Rifle

I turned my attentions tonight to my superb, outstanding, simply awesome K-31  This has got to be my favorite bolt action rifle.  The straight pull bolt is quick and easy to use and it fires a full power rifle round.

This rifle was issued to a soldier in the Swiss Army.  His information is written on a slip of weatherproof paper under the steel butt plate.

The Swiss reputation for marksmanship and the reputation of the K-31 helped to prevent Adolf Hitler from invading Switzerland during WWII.  The K-31 is known for its accuracy and the 7.5×55 Swiss cartridge is no slouch when it comes to power.

The K-31 really is built with the craftsmanship of a Swiss watch.  One of these days I’ll pull it out of it’s stock again and compare the wood work on the K-31 stock with the wood work on my 1928 Mosin Nagant 91/30.  You’ll notice the differences

I really wanted to highlight that Swiss crest on the receiver of my K-31.  It’s just cool
