I hope you and yours all had a wonderful Thanksgiving
!
My Thanksgiving was wonderful, but this post is a little long, so hit the jump for all the details and even some pictures
.
I volunteered to work on thanksgiving - the pay was just too good to pass up
. I have to commend managment on this one - they brought us in a full Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatos, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, veggies, and dessert
. Garth, the manager of data repair, attempted to carve the first turkey. This being his first time attempting the feat, his efforts met with a mix of success and some frustration. He decided that he’d hand the knife over to Mark who aside from being an excellent call screener has great skills in the kitchen due to previous work in catering
. The food was wonderful and everyone had a great time. I’d like to offer a big THANK YOU to all the members of management who made this happen
!

Due to several factors, my roommate and I will have Thanksgiving with her family on Saturday, but we still wanted a good Thanksgiving dinner together anyway. We decided that after I got out of work, we’d go out for Thanksgiving dinner somewhere nice. And where better for a couple of Parrotheads to go for Thanksgiving dinner than Margaritaville
?
Margaritaville pulled out all the stops for Thanksgiving including the entertainment normally reserved for Saturday night! Every hour on the hour “Volcano” comes on the sound system accompanied by a bit of a show from the volcano in the restaraunt and a very good looking and talented girl in a very small outfit. At the end of Volcano, Margaritaville comes on the sound system as the aformentioned girl slides down the water slide on the volcano and into a giant blender! From there, a large “fish hook” fishes her out of the blender and she proceeds to do one heck of an acrobatic routine and dances along one of the railings! Of course, all this time the stilt walkers who usually make balloon creations (animals, hats, etc.) are dancing and livening up the crowd even more
.
I managed to get a couple of pics - and I’m truly thankful my roommate is so understanding
! I would have some pics of her in this post, but she’s very camera shy.

So yeah, the entertainment was awesome you say, but what about the food? The food was just as wonderful as the entertainment
! Dinner started out with butternut squash soup which turned out to be much better than I thought it would be - I’m not a big squash fan. The main course was, of course, turkey and mashed potatos with gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and veggies. The turkey was so moist and tender it just about melted in my mouth, the mashed potatos were superb, the cranberry sauce was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the veggies were wonderful, too - squash, peppers, and a couple of others that I can’t think of right now all sauteed together
. My weakness as both my roommate and my mother both know is stuffing and the stuffing at Margaritaville was exquisite! I can’t remember all the stuff they put in it, but the chestnuts were a very welcome addition.
Dessert for the Margaritaville Thanksgiving special dinner was slated to be pumpkin pie which I love but which my roommate fails to share my affection for. No problem - I got the pumpkin pie which was superb and they were kind enough to accomodate her request for something different with key lime pie - how thoughtful! The plates were decorated - hers with red and yellow drizzles, powdered sugar, and dollops of whipped cream and mine with powdered sugar, cinnamon powder, and whipped cream
