Oh yeah, I’ve been meaning to post about this for a while, but life gets in the way sometimes .

I’ve realized lately that I really do love living in Las Vegas for a whole bunch of reasons . It’s not just having a Margaritaville a short distance away, even though that is definitely a big plus.

I had the occasion a few days ago to visit the Silverton a couple of times - first to go buy some Christmas gifts, and later just for fun. I met up with my roommate just inside the Silverton after walking through Bass Pro Shop to get there. We sat down at Top Gun the slot machine, had a nice drink, played a bit and went on to find something else to play. About that time, we noticed something unusual in the aquarium …

Yep, there was a mermaid swimming around in there ! How cool is that?!

Afterwords, it was time to wander around Bass Pro Shops and check out all the cool stuff and gift ideas. Yep, I’ll take just about any firearm upstairs .

Lately I’ve gotten to go see The Producers with Tony Danza at the Paris, George Wallace at the Flamingo, and of course, Jimmy Buffett at the MGM Grand Garden Arena . Then there was Aviation Nation (post coming soon - I SWEAR!). There’s always the fountains at the Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage, the lions at the MGM, the aquarium at the Mandalay Bay, and a whole bunch more to see and do. Ya know, like visiting the Shelby factory up near the speedway.

So yes, the weather may be slightly warmer or colder at times than I’d like and the ocean is a bit farther away than I’d prefer, but I think it’s still pretty good around here
