Order A Great Calendar, Support Children’s Charities, And Protest Censorship All In One Transaction!

Ryanair calendar – 2008 cabin crew charity calendar

Fox News:

MADRID, Spain — Spain’s government-run Women’s Institute has labeled a 2008 calendar for low-cost airline Ryanair featuring bikini-wearing air hostesses as sexist and said it would be sending letters of complaint to Irish and EU authorities.

Yep, it’s come down to this. Ryanair, a low-cost carrier in Europe, decided to do something to help out with children’s charities. They used volunteer flight attendants and put together a calendar of these lovely ladies in bikinis – everything is covered – and put them up for sale on flights and (luckily for me) on the internet – click here to go to the order page :) . Good, clean fun and a good way to raise money for a worthy cause, right?

The Spanish Women’s Institute (funded and run by the government of Spain) doesn’t think this is such a good idea. They claim it’s sexist and are filing complaints with the European Union and the government of Ireland where Ryanair is based. They claim that men should have been included and that they would have had no problem if that were the case.

I have two reactions to the Spanish Women’s Institute – :wtf: and :bs:

I personally wouldn’t care if the Spanish Women’s Institute has a problem with any creative work of mine, but then again I live in the U.S. and not the E.U. so I’m outside of their purview. That said, why should the company be forced to put together a calendar that they don’t want to? Why can’t the Spanish Women’s Institute put together a great calendar of men – something along the lines of “Spanish Men For The Enjoyment of Women” or something similar? Also, what does the average Spanish woman on the street think of this? Does it enjoy public support? Is the Spanish public in favor of the efforts by the Women’s Institute and their use of taxpayer dollars?

Some of the calendar pictures were posted on gadling.com by ryanaircalendar.com and are definitely worth a look :thumb: !!!

Oh yeah, I had one other reaction – I ordered a calendar myself :D And I’m definitely looking forward to October and this wonderful picture of Joanna from Dublin :inlove: !!!

As a woman, I am offended by their reaction. This is insane and makes the rest of us look like uptight females that need to get laid. It’s called marketing, deal with it. Instead of whining and complaining, do something productive…like grab some sexy men for an all male calender. Women that nag and nag the public about this stuff are 1 of 2 things: Jealous that they don’t have a body like those ladies OR Haven’t been satisfied properly.

  • Please be aware of the very young, very innocent and extremely vulnerable MISSING – BRITISH – CHILD; who’s name is Madeleine McCann, now seven years old. Madeleine disappeared from Praia da Luz, on Thursday evening, May 3rd 2007, in Portugal. Please think about keeping a lookout for Madeleine, as nobody, as far as I am aware knows where young Madeleine might be in our world. With everyones help we can bring young Madeleine back to her loving family in the United Kingdom, thankyou. For more information please visit w dot findmadeleine dot com GOD PROTECT YOU MADELEINE
