Picture(s) A Day – 2 August 2009
By Parrothead Jeff, on 3 August 2009
I only made a short range foray into the world today. Wal Mart, lunch, then home
No fantastic scenery (lots of that next Sunday
), but still a glimpse into my life and travels nonetheless

2 August 2009 - Wal Mart had a bulk pack of .22 long rifle!!!
As I said, the first stop was Wal Mart. I’d gone there for some light grocery shopping and a to check out shotguns. Yes, I was looking at guns
I know you’re in a state of shock about that, but try to hang in there
Aside from shotguns, they actually had a bulk pack (500 rounds) of .22 long rifle ammo (which was shocking to begin with) and they only wanted $15 for it
For comparison, I’ve seen a couple of places online that want $30 plus shipping for the same amount of ammo. I might have already had about 1,000 rounds of .22 lr, but the Ruger 10/22 can eat this stuff in a hurry if you let it so it’s better to have more if you can

2 August 2009 - Weird, but very cool in its own way
This guy pulled alongside me at a traffic light before jumping on the freeway and I had to check his ride out. It looks like a trike with a VW engine in the back, some sort of trunk above that, and (even though you can’t see it here) a gearshift lever with a skull on top where the gas tank would be on a motorcycle. I don’t know that I’d really want one, but it’s still pretty cool

2 August 2009 - 1328 hours was time to buy BRUNCH!!!
Having a couple of pennies to rub together, I headed over to Raising Cane’s for a chicken finger brunch in the early afternoon
GOOD STUFF!!!

2 August 2009 - OUCH!!! Please be careful out there!

2 August 2009 - OUCH!!! Please be careful out there!
I saw this as I was leaving Raising Cane’s. For God’s sake, be careful out there, people
!!! I don’t know how this happened, but the silver car didn’t look damaged. This was the second accident I saw on a surface street in two days. I hope they had some water!!! To add to the hint from God that going home might be a good idea, the tow truck that pulled up (sorry, no pics of it – too difficult to do safely) was a flatbed with a wrecked car already on it. I took the hint and went straight home
Have fun and stay safe out there
That white car is right up on the curb and everything!! Geez. That looks like a case of hit the gas, not the brake.
That motorcycle/car-without-a-roof/toy — okay, that is REALLY different!
