How Roe V Wade Might Save Us From ObamaCare

Those who know me have no questions about my position on abortion. Basically, I think it’s evil if it’s not done for the health of the mother or in cases of rape or incest. At best, it should be an issue for the states to decide.

But this post isn’t about where I stand on abortion. It’s not about where you stand on abortion or what anyone thinks of abortion at all.

It’s about the reasoning in the case of Roe V Wade and how the current government is trying to have it both ways when it comes to government run health care.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but the reasoning behind the ruling in Roe was that what goes on between a patient and a doctor is private and therefore protected by one’s Constitutional Right to Privacy.  Because of this Right to Privacy, the government could not tell someone what they and their doctor could do and abortion should be a Constitutional Right.

I don’t really buy into it and I have never pretended to agree with any of this.  Still, it’s considered Settled Constitutional Law and held inviolate by the Democratic Party and the left side of the political field.  This is one of the Pillars of Power that keeps the Democrats in office and in control.  They CANNOT go back on it.

Now, consider this:  The plan as it stands right now which those same Democrats are trying to ram down our throats seeks to control exactly that which the Supreme Court has held to be Constitutionally Protected.  All medical decisions, being funded by the government, would be subject to government oversight and approval.  You would have no more privacy.

So which is it?  Are the conversations, consultations, and decisions of a United States Citizen protected by a Constitutional Right to Privacy or are they open to legal regulation by the federal government?

Of course, I’m trying to get government to follow logic which is somewhat like trying to divide by zero or herd cats…
