Picture(s) A Day – 30 October 2009

Yesterday was not exactly the greatest day in recent memory, but I’ve certainly had worse.

As you’ve probably read, I wasn’t feeling nearly 100% and I actually left work early and went to the doctor   The doc looked me over, decided that I didn’t have strep throat, but that it would still be a good idea to give me some antibiotics.  He was also rather surprised and pleased to see that I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight   As a result of my weight loss, it’s been decided that I need another sleep study.  Thankfully, I’ve got good insurance so a sleep study only costs me $15.  Without insurance, it would be $1,000.  I’m supposed to have a sleep study after ever 30 or so pounds of weight loss.  If things keep going the way they have been, I’ll likely be seeing them before too long again.

I figured that a good place to go for my prescription would be the Costco pharmacy I’d had the last one filled at.  The pictures above were taken on my way from Costco to go get some food for Ziva

30 October 2009 - News helicopter covering a light plane crash nearby

Exotic Pets is very close to the North Las Vegas airport, so I’m used to seeing lots of aircraft in the area.  This helicopter wasn’t just there for the normal reasons.  There was a plane crash about a block away shortly before I got into the area.  The aircraft was a home-built plane called a Dragonfly and thankfully there were no major injuries.

Back at Exotic Pets, I managed to get some (I think) decent pictures   I made sure there were a few pics of some of the cute, furry, cuddly creatures for Kath along with some fun and interesting pictures of some of the cool reptiles as well

Anyway, I managed to get some sleep last night and today, so I’m doing somewhat better.  It still remains to be seen if I’ll be up to going shooting tomorrow.  I’ll probably feel good enough, but there may be wind to deal with – this is Las Vegas in the fall after all.
