We’re here in OceansideWell, we made it to Oceanside! What a trip. We got out of Wichita about 1830 on Thursday evening and made Kingman, Arizona mid afternoon on Friday. We called it quits and got a room and slept. We left Kingman Saturday morning and got to Oceanside about 1400 local. It was my sister-in-law’s birthday so we went out for dinner and such. She hit the Big Five Zero. Today it is going to be almost 80 here. About an hour or so after we have brunch, I am getting in the pool. My brother-in-law has a pool and spa-tub in the backyard. I have nothing else to do today, so I am getting wet. I was unable to get pictures of Seligman. The tourists had the main drag all plugged up. So we took off. The best part of the trip was yesterday. It was a perfect desert day, not a cloud in the sky and warming nicely. We had to use the Air Conditioning in the car! I never thought I would look forward to moving to California. But the desert is something else. You have to experience it to really know. And it has sunk in now that we made it. We are moving to California. In a way, we are here, except for the furniture and such. When we stopped in Gallup for breakfast at Earl’s there was snow on the ground and it was cold. I can say that I don’t miss that anymore. The older, the more winter becomes a pain. The desert might get cold at night but snow is a rare thing. I just don’t like shoveling snow anymore. The Missus outlook was, I am not moving any further north than I-70. So we are relocating to the other nowhere, but in easy reach of anything we might need. It is a short trip(45 minutes or so) to Lancaster and Palmdale with Walmarts and Sam’s Clubs and the base has a full commissary and large exchange. And it will be close to where we plan to live. And Babs and Dianne are just going to LOVE ME! 1 comment to We’re here in Oceanside |
