High plains and desert just can't be beat, in my opinion. They just don't make 'em like that in the Southeast...now & then there's something noteworthy, but usually it's like the 'weather' - or lack thereof - and just not terribly inspirational. ONCE in awhile, though, because of some unusual patterns somewhere, there's a few really kick-ass sunrises or sunsets. It just has to be enough. Kailua had some nice sunrises.
