I’m Back!We finally got internet today. It is DSL. The cable company will not be able to hook us up until the 27th of this month!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did rent the house I mentioned over at Old Retired Petty Officer. It is 1,600 square feet, three bedrooms/two baths/two car garage and no lawn front or back.All the appliances are new. The dishwasher is stainless steel on the inside. It is a notoriously hard water area. The owner bought this place as an investment property and put a lot of money and effort into it. California City is basically a bedroom community for Edwards AFB and people who work at the Honda and Kia/Hyundai proving grounds live here also. We do not have a major grocery store but the city is trying to get a Von’s or Ralph’s. As for the Missus and I, it is the Commissary Store on base. Retirement perk, ya know! It is about a 25 minute drive to the hangar parking lot on base. I go in through the North Gate off of CA 58. Again I do apologize to all for the absence with no update until now. Wait — no front yard or back? What? You’re not getting out of mowing grass are you? No fair!
Have fun being back at work and getting back into a regular schedule! That’s got to be a good feeling.
I sometimes wonder how the AF gets anything done with all the paperwork and emails and such being so integral to how they do business. And I have to get a clearance. That should prove interesting.
All I have to do is keep the weeds down. I may get a load of decorator rock for the front yard. I was thinking Navy Blue and Gold!!!!!!!!!!!
No grass, just dirt/sand. No grass to mow, at all
And yesterday for a short time, I was in the aft engine compartment of a Fighting Falcon.
