Sad News

Although it was not unexpected at all, it was still sad to hear that my last grandparent passed away this morning. Heidi was actually Mom’s stepmom. She was 103 years old and while she had trouble seeing, hearing, and walking, her mind was still sharp. Heidi loved the outdoors and probably knew more about Arizona than I do about airplanes and guns combined.

We’ll miss her and I’ll pray for her.

I lost my last grandparent in 2001. My maternal grandmother was 98. She lived a full life and was around for Comet Halley both times. The best thing was seeing her on a John Deere when I was a little tyke.

Thank you both. We’re handling it pretty well, but you still never want to lose someone even if it’s expected.
