Picture(s) A Day – 17 November 2009

It seemed like a long day at work today, but that’s how it goes sometimes.  Along with my bank account after paying bills (ouch!), I’ve decided to lay quite low for a while.  If anyone wants to go shooting, they’re putting gas in the car    To tell the truth, I don’t know that I’ll be going to the concert(s) this weekend, even with free cover at the Double Down.  But at least I got some Christmas shopping done at the airshow :)

I usually go through my pictures and rotate them level before cropping them square.  I hope you’ll forgive me for leaving them raw tonight as I desperately could use some rest.  I want to be ready for work on time again tomorrow :P

Anywho, on with those pictures 8)

Yes, I made a stop on the way home tonight – I had to get the fifth Harry Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” after finishing the last one last night.  No, it didn’t take very long for me to get from work to the book store, nor did it take long to get to where this picture was taken.  Still, the days are so short this time of year that this is what I’ve got to come home to.  I miss long days that are below 100°.

From previous comments I know there’s a bunch of you out there who love IN-N-OUT like I do :D   If I had some more money, I’d probably have gone there for dinner    There’s just something about freshly cooked food that’s never seen a heat lamp that I really enjoy.

Have a good day, everyone

I am not a happy person if I have to drive in the evening time. I can in very early morning, but that evening time, when the really stupid people don’t have their lights on yet and there’s a million cars on the road — no. I hate it.

Big pat on the back to myself, I finally (!!) figured out how to set a timer on a light, so it comes on a bit before I get home. So not wasting a lot of elec. but not coming into a dark house either. I have the solar garden lights and a driveway light, but — geez, it’s dark in a minute now! Not enough fade time!

On the way into the 912 AMXS, I see the first pink to gold light in the East over the mountains East of Barstow. And then there are the idiots on CA 58 from the Cal City Blvd. to the Edwards AFB exit, all of two freaking miles. If it is a high priced Jap/Swedish/German/Korean go fast look out!!!!!!!!!!!
But after dealing with the dummies, the sunrise is really cool. And there is no haze, it is crisp and clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And In and Out Burger is the Best, period. Not negotiable. The closest one is in Palmdale.

Double Double Combo Meal. The ultimate heart attack in a bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saayy Amen!!!!!
    On Preston Platform,
Do your soft shoe shuffle dance,
Brush away the cigarette ash that’s falling down your pants,
And you sadly wonder, Does the nurse treat your old man,
    The way she should?
    Does she bring you tea,
    Ask for your autograph?
    What a laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Jethro Tull, Aqualung, 1971
I had to, OK? It just seemed to fit.

I have another cool dude for the blogroll. Buck over at Exile in Portales would be an outstanding addition. He is retired Air Force and a wee bit older than me, with the gray hair of wisdom and truth. But he is one seriously righteous dude(straight from the sixties) I almost forgot we used to talk like that…….Yowzaaaaahhhhhh! Not to mention a tad scary!

I will let Buck know and no sweat on my other place, either. Buck may get a kick out of it and he does comment on the ORPO real regular.
And I need to let you know that the moving wall in Palmdale is closing tomorrow night. I thought the 21st was Sunday.
