33 Years
By Parrothead Jeff, on 2 December 2009
As I’ve said before, I feel like I’m getting a bit old. I know that I really don’t have a clue about what I’m saying here compared to some of the readers, but that’s how it looks from this point of view. Still, at least I’m still here
Along with the very welcome comments to Kath’s most excellent post, I did receive many welcome phone calls, text messages, and a couple of very nice gifts

Hand made small Christmas tree - it even fits in my apartment 8)
And yes, in case you were wondering, there’s a Buffett song in my head
Jimmy may not have written it, but he and Martina McBride sure did a good job when recording it
From Buffettworld.com:
Trip Around the Sun by Al Anderson
(Jimmy)
Hear ‘em singing happy birthday
Better think about the wish I make
This year gone by
Ain’t been a piece of cake
(Martina)
Every day’s a revolution
Pull it together and it comes undone
Just one more candle and a trip around the sun
(Jimmy and Martina)
I’m just hanging on while this old world keeps spinning
And it’s good to know it’s out of my control
If there’s one thing that I’ve learned from all this living
Is that it wouldn’t change a thing if I let go
(Martina)
No you never see it coming
Always wind up wondering where it went
(Jimmy)
Only time will tell
If it was time well spent
It’s another revelation
(Martina)
Celebrating what I should have done
With these souvenirs of my trip around the sun
(Martina and Jimmy)

And it’s good to know it’s out of my control
If there’s one thing I have learned from all this living
Is that it wouldn’t change a thing if I let go

(Jimmy)
Yes I’ll make a resolution
(Martina)
That I’ll never make another one
(Jimmy and Martina)
Just enjoy this ride on my

Yeah, that’s about how I feel right about now. But at least I’m still here
Take care, everyone
So back to work for you, young man!!
I cannot believe this means you have a Christmas tree up before I do. All I have is a bit of decorations on the front porch, but the back patio still is holding onto fall.
But ONCE AGAIN there’s a CHANCE of snow this weekend!! (I’d already been to the grocery when they said it, so I don’t have to go into panic mode just yet.)
Glad you had a good birthday.
Thanks, Kath
Yep, I’ve got the Christmas tree, but I still have to put up some lights
Here’s hoping you get some snow to post pictures of
We have one string of lights across the carport. We’ll see what else My Chief puts up, cuz this is just about enough for me. And your tree, Jeff, is EXACTLY the one I want this year!
I love my little Christmas tree
Here’s hoping your decorating goes well
A Swiss Army knife of one flavor or another should be in every gentleman’s pocket. An excellent gift.
Yep, it truly is an excellent gift
I really like the Swiss Card – it goes so well in a pocket or wallet and has lots of useful stuff
It might be a Walmart special for us. The big stuff is staying with daughter and her gang in Wichita. I may put some around the front overhang and garage eave. There are a few houses around that are already lit up, in the Mojave Desert!
And I have lost my share of Victornix knives over the years. My favorite ones have the toothpick. And you ain’t old yet. Is he Buck?
Oh yeah, I know all about decorating on a budget but at least we’ve got family, right
And you’d be surprised how much the desert dwellers get into Christmas
