Las Vegas weather update - Guess I ain't goin' up on the mountain...
I just got this update in my email inbox and I have to say that I’m disappointed that I don’t have chains/cables and I can’t really afford to buy any right at the moment. You’ve probably seen pictures of Mt. Charleston in the summer if you’ve been around for a while, but I really would like to see it in the winter
Have fun and keep warm
Yep, that stinky weather is predicted to be us in a couple days — sounds really nasty, too!!
“Wednesday will see the rainfall continue through the morning before finally tapering off in the afternoon hours. Highs are expected to reach the upper 40s, and winds will begin to pick up Wednesday night behind the cold front.”
“Thursday will be windy and cold, with highs in the lower 40s. Friday and Saturday will really experience a colder pattern with highs only anticipated to reach the mid to upper 30s.”
Let’s hope that’s just REAL WRONG!!!
But tomorrow is BUFFET Day, right???
Yep, that sounds pretty bad. But tonight is the new Buffett album
There was snow on the Tehachipi Mountains today. And the forecast calls for accumulations of one to two inches in the Antelope Valley! This includes the base, Cal City and Mojave.
The Missus just called. In Tucumcari, NM and tying up for the night. My “Rotating Day Off” is on Thursday so that is unload the truck day!
And check out the weather thingie at Old Retired Petty Officer for the weather at Cal City/North Edwards.
And I cannot figure out how to get a weather thingie and map on my wordpress blog. Any suggestions?
Glenn, I’ve gotta get some sleep tonight, but I’ll check into the weather thingy tomorrow
Have fun in the snow and I’m glad the trip’s going well for the Missus
Glenn–Glad your household is finally going to be complete — not with stuff, but because the Missus will be home with you!:)
Update: She is in Flagstaff, AZ. There is a lot of snow on the ground but no more falling/blowing. That is already in Colorado. She will be in Cal City tomorrow night! Post will follow upon completion of unloading.
And it was cold and windy at Rogers Dry Lake today. The snow on the Tehachipis was beautiful. Unfortunately, I cannot take a camera into work to get the good shots. And it is like Jeff….go to work in the dark and go home in the dark.
That’s great news about the Missus!
I might have a climate controlled workplace, but you get to hear afterburners each day, so I’m more than a bit jealous
