Picture(s) A Day – 9, 10, & 11 December 2009

OK, time to play just a bit of catch up in the blogging :)

Today was two hours of overtime and I’m going in again tomorrow for four more hours.  I know I can count on two to four hours each day on Monday and Tuesday.  I’m truly looking forward to Sunday – it’s my only full day off.  As I’ve said before, I’m truly thankful that I have a job at all and I welcome the extra cash even if I won’t get most of it until 1 January 2010.  I have plans for that money along with some of what I get from my tax return

Anywho, on with the rest of the post :D

9 December 2009 - No kidding :D

9 December 2009 - It was FREEZING out there!!

9 December 2009 - It was FREEZING out there!!

Wednesday was a pretty cold day at the start.  It was the first time I’ve seen it that cold as I walked out the door to my car.  Thankfully, I didn’t actually have to worry about ice as there wasn’t really any water to freeze.

10 December 2009 - Snow still on the mountain

10 December 2009 - Snow still on the mountain

This was the view leaving work on Thursday.  No overtime, so there was still a little bit of daylight left.  And yes, I do love seeing the snow on those mountains    The winter solstice won’t be until 21 December, but at least we’re almost there

11 December 2009 - A good selection of my everyday carry compliment

11 December 2009 - A good selection of my everyday carry compliment

Last, but not least, I thought I’d do something a bit different from normal with today’s pictures.  I thought I’d show everyone a few of my everyday carry tools :)   No, I don’t carry all of these everyday, but I’ll have a few.  That’s a Gerber Clutch on the top left followed by a combination Buck knife, a Winchester fixed blade, my Bass Pro Shops folder that I got for free, a Leatherman folder with carabiner/screwdriver/cap lifter, and three Swiss Army knives.  On the bottom row from right to left are my Swiss Card with its nice array of tools, my Streamlight Stylus Pro, and my cellphone.  The Clutch, a folding knife, the Swiss Card, Streamlight, and cellphone all go with me pretty much everywhere.

Some people might think that the cellphone is a bit ordinary, but I think they might forget some of the capabilities it brings.  Along with verbal communications, there’s texting, photography, and other tools such as a calculator which have helped on a number of occasions.

I’m sure y’all can think of some ways the other items can come in handy, so I’ll cut this off shortly

It’s time to get some sleep in preparation for tomorrow’s adventure into the world of telecommunications repair during a time of inclement weather and the joyful fun that entails.  I had the option of working 0700-1100, 0900-1300, or 1200-1600.  I didn’t want to worry about waking up in time for the 0700 shift and I wanted to have some actual daylight left when I get out so I took the 0900-1300 shift.  I’m thinking I’ll have to go by WalMart and get some film developed after work tomorrow as I know some of the people around here might like some more plane Pr0n :)

Have a great Saturday, everyone :D

At least you got some choice in the matter of work today and I think you picked good hours! I’m working today, but from home, trying to see how much I can get done before the game comes on. (Maybe relieve my stress then by doing some holiday baking!!)

I’m sure even with all the hours you’ve been working, your camera — with that automatic plane picture setting it has ;) – has some good pictures!

    Good luck at work today!

Western Storm Brings Heavy Rain and Snow: A storm is racing into the West, producing rain along the drought-stricken coast and heavy mountain snows….

Just saw that on our weather page! Guess that means your work isn’t going to slow down any. Blah.
