Maybe It’s Over?

I hate snow.  Sick of it.  It’s not pretty, it’s not fun.     And I have the bruises to prove it!!

This is a picture of my patio when I woke up Saturday morning.

Yes, yes, okay, so it’s my own fault that I whapped my head on the outside mirror of my car while I was shoveling, but I was into a good rhythm!!

And yes, yes, it’s my own fault that the snow shovel slipped back and whapped my arm — I could have SWORN my arm broke, it hurt so bad!!!

And lest you say, whimp! keep in mind I cleaned off my driveway, (part of) my patio and then my car by myself!!  Okay,  yes, the neighbors did part of the driveway but that’s because they were unimpressed with my haphazard shoveling skills and in order to stop laughing hysterically they came over and helped.

And here is my patio on Sunday morning.   Snow shoveling party, anyone??

The picture right above is out my front door on Sun. morning — this is AFTER clearing the walk, the driveway and my car on Saturday afternoon.

So I’m sure I didn’t have it as bad as some people, but  it can go away now.  And the roads  are poopy!

Our next “event” is sleet/freezing rain Christmas morning!!  Whoo-hoo!!

Thank you to those of you that checked on me!!  :) :)

  • Aiiieee. I’m in COMPLETE agreement: snow sucks. The only thing worse is freezing rain and ice. Stock up and cocoon yourfineself over Christmas, Kath.

Buck, we’re all saying thank goodness it was the weekend!! The Federal Gov. was closed Mon. and all the schools are closed until after New Year’s anyway, so commuting Mon. was only kinda awful.

But, of course, all those people went to the mall on Monday.

      Enough already with the winter!!!

No thanks. I’ll take a rare hurricane than have to constantly deal with snow.

This is one those times I envy you living in Florida!

Hey! Northeast Florida had some FROST this week! At this rate, most of the snow bunnies might move to Miami – which is fine by me. Watching the Las Vegas Bowl, with the wind whippin’ the flagpoles…I miss wind. I miss snow. But there really are things we forget when we’ve been gone a long time from that kind of weather. Driving is the BIGGEST hassle – surpassed only by OTHER PEOPLE driving! Take care, Kath – that cocoon idea strikes me as good advice. IF it’s possible, of course.

Well, they are still out working on the roads, so I thank the snow plow people for that. They brought in some heavier machinery to scrape the ice. So I guess come spring we’ll be talking big pot holes, but right now they had to, just so people could get around. Hopefully the ice/sleet/rain thing on Friday will be more rain than ice and that will help — well, maybe??? :)

It snowed up on top of the Tehachapi Mountains this morning. CA 58 was closed for a while! The San Gabriel Mountains to the south are still snow-capped from the last one. However, down here in the Antelope Valley, just wind, cold and some light rain. And the winds today were 40 gusting 60/70. Yeah, the desert is cold in the winter. Especially at our elevation of 2,375 feet in Cal City. It is still very dry for the most part but we do get the light precip this time of year.

  • That looks so cool 8) Yeah, you can probably tell I’ve never lived with it :P

We had cold weather, lots of wind, and a few sprinkles. Come on, snow  !!!

The next one is from the Rocky Mountain Front across the High Plains to the Mississippi River. The kids and grandkids in Kansas are in for snow tonight or tomorrow. The WX channel had a guy out next to I-94 going to St. Cloud and it was getting slick.
Here is was sunny, light breezes and about the mid fifties.

  • It is obvious that I, also, have never lived in snow because… that looks lovely!! :o)
I’m sure that the novelty of it would wear off after about day two though. :o)
