Small .380 ACP pistols have become very popular for concealed carry these days.  Taurus seems to have gotten the message and jumped on the bandwagon with this PT 738.  This easily fits in a pocket, it’s not too heavy, and it shouldn’t have too much recoil

The Walther P-22 is pretty much a recreational gun.  It’s a semi-automatic .22 LR caliber pistol which is reasonably priced, cheap to shoot, and easy to use as a suppressor host   Sure, you can still hunt with it, but I’d rather have a larger caliber for other applications like self defense.

Benchmade is known for the quality knives they make.  This little piece of equipment is made strictly for rescue applications.  Their rescue hooks can go through multiple layers of seat belts, thick leather boots, and any type of clothing imaginable with ease.  It’s something I’m probably going to buy before long (this one’s only $24.99) but hope I’ll never have to use.  It’s that whole being prepared thing again

11 July 2010 - Texture in the sky this morning over my apartment

Again I don’t know why but I woke up at about 0500 today.  I headed out a bit after 0600 to grab a bite to eat and saw something I’ve not seen in a while – clouds   It’s been severe clear here for the longest time with very few exceptions, so texture in the sky is something I enjoy

Toys like this integrally suppressed MP-5 SD in 9mm   This one’s only semi-auto right now, but it can be legally owned by a civilian with the addition of a registered Fleming auto sear   I do want one of these someday

Now this is something I’m going to buy much sooner rather than later   For about $27 you get a 1,000,000 volt stun gun that looks remarkably like a cell phone.  It also has a fairly bright flashlight and comes with batteries and carry case for that price as well

GSG stands for German Sport Guns.  They make .22 caliber replicas of AR-15s, MP-5s, AK-47s, and now .22 caliber 1911 pistols   I was very impressed with he fit and finish on this gun.  It doesn’t feel cheap or light weight – it feels like a real .45 caliber pistol.  Very cool indeed

But what’s even cooler is that it comes with a threaded barrel   And yes, that is a Silencerco Sparrow on the muzzle   So, does anyone think I might want one of those ?

Anyone up for open carrying here in Vegas?  I’ve got extra handguns and holsters

The Supreme Court has told Chicago Mayor Daley (a fan of rape by firearm) to to piss up a rope   They’ve said that the Second Amendment applies to all U.S. Citizens and cannot be infringed by local, county, or state governments.  Chicago and a few other places have a de-facto ban on handgun ownership and tried to claim that the Second Amendment only bound the federal government, not the states and cities.

The decision in the McDonald case came down five to four which while a victory is disappointingly close in my opinion.  Still, it’s a win and I’ll take it
