Order A Great Calendar, Support Children’s Charities, And Protest Censorship All In One Transaction!Ryanair calendar – 2008 cabin crew charity calendar
Yep, it’s come down to this. Ryanair, a low-cost carrier in Europe, decided to do something to help out with children’s charities. They used volunteer flight attendants and put together a calendar of these lovely ladies in bikinis – everything is covered – and put them up for sale on flights and (luckily for me) on the internet – click here to go to the order page The Spanish Women’s Institute (funded and run by the government of Spain) doesn’t think this is such a good idea. They claim it’s sexist and are filing complaints with the European Union and the government of Ireland where Ryanair is based. They claim that men should have been included and that they would have had no problem if that were the case. I have two reactions to the Spanish Women’s Institute – Click the link for more below the fold – including pictures Yeah, about the weather today – it BITES
I was originally supposed to drive down to Fontana for a friend’s Christmas party, but alas, the weather just ain’t what I want to see when making my way through the Cajon Pass. It’s supposed to be windy, snowy, and cold. Aside from never having driven in snow, my car and its tires just aren’t suited to the snow. I tend to trust in my abilities to navigate just about any road in just about any condition (really hate fog though So now I’m not going to Fontana and the weather here really sucks – what to do There’s lots of housework to be done, but I’m not really in the mood. I’ll probably do some anyway. I’ve been meaning to buy some thermal underwear… Maybe a trip to Wal Mart Fishing Well, it’s off to Wal Mart for some warm clothing, then over to the conservatory at the Bellagio to look at the cool stuff there and then back home before going out fishing Have fun everyone Yep, it’s that time again – another new hobby/interest/whatever and this time it’s fishing Bass Pro Shops’ Outdoor World has a sizable chunk of my hard earned $$$, but at least I’m geared up for whatever I might want to catch. Of course, I will have to learn to cast with a baitcasting reel, but even that should be a fun learning experience, right Current inventory consists of one tackle box (which may be replaced – I bought it more for rocketry), numerous baits, lures, etc. and three rod/reel combos. One is super light (spinning), one medium (also spinning), and one is fairly heavy duty (baitcasting). I figure the ultra light gear will be good for lots of stuff as will the medium combo. I bought the heavier duty gear because I have a feeling I might want to go after striped bass in Lake Mead or catfish other places. I still haven’t gotten a chance to use two of the three rods, but that should change soon – I’m planning on keeping at least the two lighter rigs and tackle box in my car and going by a pond on my way home I think this should be relaxing and fun Lately I’ve noticed that I always need something to look forward to. Let me tell you, work ain’t ever it. Work is work, not too bad lately to tell you the truth, but I really don’t want to go in tomorrow, especially considering that they called me up on Saturday (first time that’s ever happened) to offer overtime this weekend. I politely thanked them and declined the offer with the explanation that it was my birthday and I had plans both days. Working in telecom, you learn to hate bad weather, but for a completely different reason than when in car sales. Bad weather means stuff breaks – lots of stuff. And I have to try to get it fixed. C’est la vie, c’est la guerre Lately, I’ve had Aviation Nation and my birthday to look forward to. Now it’s my impending trip to Fontana for my friend’s holiday party and my brother’s visit (for which I’ve booked two days of vacation just before the weekend In the short term, I’d really been looking forward to going fishing at Sunset Park, but that was not to be. Stuff got in the way on Sunday, so it’ll have to be a bit later than that. So now it’s fishing, SoCal, seeing my brother, Christmas, New Years, and probably going down to the Planes of Fame museum’s airshow in May I wrote a post yesterday about my birthday plans and just look what showed up in the comments section from David Kervinen – the owner of Team Toucan
Yeah, that email has been sent – thanks again, David That comment was great, but I finally got a chance to check out the videos and all I could think was OMG Startup, taxi, and High speed pass: One thing to remember about that takeoff – he had full fuel tanks which added about 500 pounds to the plane, so that’s a reduced performance takeoff Thanks again, David and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and to all of Team Toucan So yeah, I like to use smilies – got a problem with that Below the fold is a list of all the smilies that work on this blog along with their codes Have fun Yep, it’s that time of year again – my birthday This one is a bit shocking for me as I realise it’s been 10 years as of tomorrow since my first visit to Las Vegas. My fabulous brother took me to Vegas for two nights on the day after my 21st birthday and yes, I had a blast Fast forward to today and I’m 31 years old. Let me say that again – I’m 31 Anyway, back on track, I’m 31 and life is quite different – so much better in so many ways. I now live in Las Vegas instead of San Diego, I’ve got a great roommate, great friends, a job that actually pays the bills, and some pretty cool toys. I’ve met some incredible people through the Road Runners Internationale, I’m still in photo and video mode, but it’s now being supplemented with fishing – but more on that later So what are the plans for today – my actual Birthday? So far I’ve managed to lounge around and do laundry. When Cindy gets back, we’re going out for a late lunch / early dinner – something Italian Here’s hoping your Saturday is going just as great as mine |
