Moonlight – New Favorite TV Show

I must say that I have a new favorite TV show – Moonlight (Wikipedia) (CBS official site)

From Wikipedia:

Moonlight is an American supernatural television drama created by Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson, who also serve as executive producers alongside Joel Silver, Gerard Bocaccio and Rod Holcomb. The show is a paranormal romance series that follows a private investigator, Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin), whose bride, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), turned him into a vampire on the couple’s wedding night 55 years prior; he struggles in the present day with his love for a mortal woman, Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), and his dealings with other vampires in the city.

So why do I like it? I like the story line, the concept (I’ve always liked vampire stories), and the episodes are entertaining, well thought out, and keep you wanting more. Of course, Beth and Coralyn aren’t bad to look at, either

I highly recommend watching, but don’t just listen to me – Moonlight just won the 2008 People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama :thumb: !

Remember – Friday night on CBS at 8:00 PM 8)

Better Than Yesterday!

Yep, today’s going much better than yesterday :D !

I’m at work today (on my lunch break right now) and functional without pharmaceuticals :) . True, I can think of places I would rather be than at work, but there’s this whole bills thing I have to be concerned about. There’s rent to be paid and insurance on the car, too. Maybe one day I’ll fly for a living, but until then I’ll keep fixing phones and computer issues.

My laptop did cause me some serious trouble yesterday. I’ve been meaning to look into a replacement for several reasons and I think it’s overheard me discussing those plans. The darn thing kept freaking overheating – even when I wasn’t doing stuff like scanning slides or editing video  . I took out the heat sink and fan assembly, cleaned out the radiator vanes at the end of the heat pipe, and managed to drip some alcohol on the fan motor. Then the fan wouldn’t work. It sat there and twitched, but wouldn’t spin until I gave it a little shove with a screw driver :x . Now it sometimes works. Other times I have to remove four screws, pull up the keyboard and give the fan a bit of a nudge to get it spinning :bang: . I have to be the only person on Planet Earth who has to “hand prop” my computer fan to get it working  !

Salvation may be forthcoming in the form of a new Dell computer which happens to be on sale at the moment :) . Yes, for $591.54 I can have the computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse delivered to my door 8) . I may just go and do this tonight before I figure out that for some unknown reason I don’t have the money. Especially since I still haven’t figured out how to get at that $1,000,000 yet  .

I did find something that brightened my day – some poetic justice out there in the world. These silly criminals really should learn proper firearms safety before they get their guns :P !

Fox News – Cops: Man Shoots Himself in Groin During Store Robbery

Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Associated Press

KOKOMO, Ind. — A man accidentally shot himself in the groin as he was robbing a convenience store, police said.

A clerk told police a man carrying a semiautomatic handgun entered the Village Pantry Tuesday morning demanding cash and a pack of cigarettes. The clerk put the cash in a bag and as she turned to get the cigarettes, she heard the gun discharge.

Surveillance video shows the man shooting himself as he placed the gun in the waistband of his pants, police said. The clerk wasn’t injured.

A short time later, police found 25-year-old Derrick Kosch at a home with a gunshot wound to his right testicle and lower left leg. He was expected to have surgery at a hospital.

Police plan to charge him with armed robbery.

That’s how it goes out here in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Here’s hoping it’s goin’ even better where you are :thumb: !

My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink…

…And I don’t love Jesus
That kind of monring, really was that kind of night
Try to tell myself that my condition is improving
And if I don’t die by Thursday I’ll be roaring Friday night

Yep, I’m quoting Buffett again. And it’s appropriate – click here for the rest of the lyrics. The first time I heard that song I had strep throat and laughed out loud because of the similarity. This time isn’t that bad, but overall I just feel bleh.

I don’t quite know what bug has gotten into me, but whatever it is, it’s a doosie. I’ve tried two different types of cold medicine and they haven’t done anything. As much as I hate to call out to work on January 14 (we only have 40 hours of sick time per year), but I’d be more of a hinderance than a help and I don’t know if I’d even be able to stay awake.

Here’s hoping your day goes better than mine!

Yeah, It Was A Busy Weekend, But Worth It

Author’s note – This was all pretty much finished on Sunday, but it’s taken a while to get the pics uploaded and properly edited. I’ll try to get the video up soon.

Busy Weekend

This is going to be a very busy weekend indeed, but a very good one as well :D !

Today will see me leave work at noon, drive directly to Fontana, and hang out with one of my very best friends – Adrienne! Tomorrow morning (weather depending) will find us at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino for their monthly event. This month’s subject is the Flying Tigers and the P-40 Warhawk 8) The presentation (sounds like a show/tell/lecture) is set to start at 1000hrs followed by a flight demonstration by the museum’s P-40.

Yes, I will have the usual assortment of cameras on hand as well as plenty of film :)

I plan on returning to Las Vegas on Saturday night and while the traffic may be bad, I’m hoping that predicted bad weather and the fact that it’s not a holiday weekend might keep most people home.

Wish me luck!

Now if the load of laundry in the dryer would just finish so I could transfer the other load and get to sleep…
