I ran back across a blog I haven’t read in a while and just had to steal this one from the author One of her blog posts (the idea for which was stolen So here’s a bit more than you probably knew and maybe more than you ever wanted to know
There’s much more to yours truly than this, but it should give you a bit more of an idea of what I’m like I know tomorrow (or should I say today?) is Monday, but it’s another day still breathing, vertical, and superterranian – get out and have a better than average time of it I’m going back into the archives today because I spent a whole bunch of time getting my apartment cleaned up I found this picture floating around on my computer and when I checked the timestamp, I realized it was taken just about two years ago I realize from time to time just how long I’ve been here and how different things have gotten in the last five or six years. I just really have no idea what I’ll be doing or where I’ll live at any great time in the future. Everything’s really fluid right now. Which is somewhat the way I like it I hope y’all like the picture I’ve written before about the fear of overreaching government and how even seasoned police officers thinking it’s not looking good for good times. If you haven’t read it before, you should check out A Second American Revolution? and the linked articles – especially COMMENTARY: Four Reasons Why Gun Sales Are Up. Add another log on that fire, folks. If this healthcare bill passes, I truly believe that there will be bloodshed. Just take a look at what’s in it:
Now, you tell me with the number of good hearted, religious, gun owning Americans just how long it would be until someone opened fire if the government said that it was time for a family member to die because they’re too expensive to care for. Tell me how many people in the USA would take kindly to the Federal Government prying into their bank accounts. I’m thinking I might just start really stockpiling some food, ammo, and buying up a bit of gold here and there. This ain’t lookin’ too good. Yeah, it’s pretty but not spectacular. I still had to get a post up for yesterday’s picture Have a great day Obama’s birth certificate is a contentious item. Really, I’d like to see it – I had to show mine for my job and I think a position of employment as important as the President of the United States is one that should require it as well. Whatever your views on the matter are, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about expressing them. Putting up signs is protected by the First Amendment and harms nobody. This is the right way to do things. Stealing someone else’s signs because they “offend” you is the wrong way to do it. See below for examples. From the YouTube description:
I’d have called the cops with the license plate number and given them the video. But that’s me. Your mileage may vary. Hat tip to Weasel Zippers I know I’m late with this post, but I realized that my AK-47 needed some TLC last night and found that it took considerably more time to properly clean than I thought it would. Wolf ammo shoots dirty and I hadn’t cleaned it in a while. Not that AKs need to be kept pristine, far from it. I love my AK because I know it’ll keep going through stuff that would turn most rifles into non-firing war clubs. Still, I felt a bit guilty so I cleaned it all up real nice Oh, you wanted some pictures, right It was time to feed Ziva and I was out of snake food, so I had to head on down to Exotic Pets again. I noticed that gas prices are still reasonable, but some places are more reasonable than others. With an 18¢ per gallon difference between these two stations, I’m amazed that the Sinclair station still sells gas. It’s not just snakes and scorpions at Exotic Pets as you’ve seen before and while I do like those critters, I figured I’d keep this post “Kath friendly” for a change Aside from their odor and my allergies to them, I love ferrets. Cindy describes them as rubber bands on springs which is a fair assessment. They’re mischevious little critters who will hide your car keys for fun I hear that prarie dogs make good pets, but I don’t think I could provide them with the right home – they need a colony and I have no room. I really wish I had a place to put a couple of these guys. They’re expensive, exotic, and loud – my kind of animals if I could do it right Chinchillas are so cute and soft! One of my mom’s friends had one when I was growing up. I might just get one or two of these guys some day So you like dogs, but don’t like carnivores? Want something big and soft? This Flemish giant rabbit might just be for you This was just too cute to pass up I’d seen the sign before, but I hadn’t ever taken a picture of it. Yes, the owner is a Parrothead That’s it for now OK, one last post before I go to bed tonight One of my all time favorite shows is Future Weapons on Discovery. I know, you’re all SHOCKED(!!!) that I’d like a show about weapons Yes, I love guns. Yes, I love muzzle blast, muzzle flash, recoil, and impact. I really like when I hit a can full of water with a hollow point AK-47 round, 9mm +P JHP round, or a full power rifle round – it just goes BOOM!!! That said, I would much prefer to stop someone without killing them. I don’t like death. I’d much rather I had to pay for someone’s lifetime incarceration than to have blood on my hands. While cruising YouTube, I came across a few videos that I just thought were too neat and cool not to share Future Weapons – X-Net Car Arrest System Need to stop a car and can’t put up a barrier? Is the target car equipped with run-flat tires? X-Net’s the answer Future Weapons – TASER’s XREP Tasers are short range. It’s the nature of the beast – you have darts connected to the launcher with wires. Taser has increased the range greatly with XREP. XREP is fired from any 12 gauge shotgun, so it’s pretty versatile. When the fin-stabilized projectile hits a person, prongs are embedded in their skin and the body of the projectile swings down with more electrodes. The bad guy goes down, then goes before a jury! Now that’s justice Futureweapons – Beretta LTL (Less Than Lethal) 7000 Last we have the Baretta LTL 7000. This may look like a shotgun, but it’s not your average Baretta pump action A series of valves bleeds off a precise amount of propellant gas to make sure that the impact energy of the non-lethal round stays constant no matter if the target is 50 feet or 230 feet away. This would be great for riots and crowd control – you get the people away from where you don’t want them, keep the operator safe, and nobody gets killed I like this kind of technology. Not every problem is a nail when you have more tools than just a hammer Have fun and stay safe Nothing too fantastic or amazing today – no thunderstorms I was heading out for lunch and I just thought the clouds were nice After work, I headed to REI to get some items to resupply my first aid kit. I’m not happy that I had to do this, but I’d rather be ready than sorry! While traveling through the parking lot, I spied this Jaguar. Now that’s one cool cat Heading back home I passed over the “Rainbow Curve” of Highway 95. This was just a bit on the tricky side, but I think the pictures turned out OK Have fun, y’all So just what the heck am I going to do tomorrow??? I mean, I live in Vegas for crying out loud Work is a given. I’ve gotta go to work to afford to live, right? So what to do after work? I know I have to go to the pet shop for food for Ziva and I need to go by the bank, but then it’s Friday in Vegas, even if I don’t have tons of $$$. What to do Possibilities at this time include:
So many possibilities and only so much time and $$$… My only real goal for the whole exercise is to wake up sometime on Saturday without a hangover, in my own bed, with money still in the bank, and a full recollection of the nights adventures What will I do There’s a new song going through my speakers on repeat tonight OK, I do care what people think sometimes… usually when I can get them to stare, slack-jawed and with their mental gears jammed and pouring smoke out of their ears by completely negating a part of the way their view of the universe works This is one of those times where I just like something and I couldn’t care less what anyone else says
Thankfully, this song cannot be construed as part of my biography, but I can only imagine the number of people it describes in detail This town is all about fun and excess which is one of the reasons I really love it Freedom, Liberty, and Opportunity. Gotta love it That’s what this song is about. Of course, I have to mention consequences too. But those come with Freedom and Liberty. It also makes me think of a certain Buffett song – I am a Parrothead after all Click on the pic and give it a listen – you might just like it. |
