We all start to let our guard down from time to time. We become complacent. It’s human nature. I admit that I’ve been this way in the past, especially regarding politicians. I was naïve in my hopes that our current President and his merry band of misbehaving delinquents would have learned from the outrage over the kids singing the Obama songs in 2008 & 2009. Yeah, I was wrong. From Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs:
I find this truly disgusting in the way it was perpetrated and believe it should be taken as a reminder that we can’t relax our vigilance. And yes, it’s yet another reason that I plan on home schooling my kids in a rural setting if I have any. Go, read the whole thing, and then read the comments. If there’s an illustrated dictionary with the term RINO (Republican In Name Only) in it, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Senator Lindsey Graham as the visual aid for that entry. From the National Journal:
Dude, in case you hadn’t noticed, there’s a good reason for not “coming together” on these issues. IT WOULD BE WRONG. Do a bit more research, think about how it would affect business, and then consider that President Obama himself said, “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” That’s not what we as a Nation or as Citizens want or need. Really, you should consider changing a few things about yourself if you’re going to adopt and promote ideas like this. Changing your party affiliation would be a start. I mean if you really don’t want to be re-elected and don’t want to resign, you could always just start sending lewd text messages to staffers or something. I’m sure that would do the trick. At least it wouldn’t hurt the country as much as this load of fertilizer. And really, the whole climate change is getting seriously worn out and busted. People in large numbers are realizing that they’ve been lied to for quite a while and they don’t like it. With damaging leaks like the ones discussed over at Lex’s place coming more frequently, they’re realizing that the only thing heating up is their frustration and anger over the way they’ve been treated. Dragging this issue out at a luncheon ain’t gonna score you any cool points. I’m just tryin’ to help out here. Daniel Alonzo, of the 177th Field Artillery Regiment, 172nd Brigade, allows an Iraqi police officer to look at his M-4 carbine assault rifle at a post in Hayy, Iraq. Light-enhancing combat rifle sights made by Trijicon for U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan carry an ID number on them like the one pictured above (top center): “ACOG4X32JN8:12″ – which reads as “Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, 4×32, John 8:12″, referring to a Bible verse with the last six characters. That verse is “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life’”. After concerns were raised about about whether the inscriptions break a government rule that bars proselytizing by American troops, Trijicon has now announced that it will no longer imprint the verses on the sides of scopes intended for the U.S. military. Enjoy! And for Kath, it was about 34 degrees outside! I’ll be working today (30 January) and tomorrow, so I needed to get some rest yesterday. It wasn’t the easiest day at work yesterday and I’ve seldom felt just as worn out as I did last night. But at least I got to go do something I’ve wanted to do for quite a while I wish the pic was better, but that’s what you get when you’re tryig to drive and get something like this at the same time. I’ve never seen such a large full moon rising over the mountains as this one last night Aside from a remarkable moonrise, you really should’ve seen this sunset for yourself
Immediately after work last night, I headed on over to New Frontier Armory / Infinite Arms. Yes, I put down a deposit on a brand new Kel-Tec PF-9 and I still can’t believe the pricing The gun you see above is the Ruger LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver) which lives up to its name and has received some great reviews since its recent introduction. It weighs only 13 ounces and can carry five rounds of 38 Special +P ammo. I did seriously consider the LCR, but decided to go with the PF-9 for its slim profile, higher round count, and lower price. I didn’t get the price while I was at the store, but you can call ‘em if you’re interested or just head over to Gallery of Guns. While I was at the shop, my friend and co-worker Uli ordered a gun through them via Gallery of Guns and then came down to check out a few things
Adam also gave me a couple of free product samples while I was at the store as well. No, I didn’t get any free ammo The ammo had just come in and all of it is priced incredibly reasonably. If you haven’t figured it out yet, Adam is fast becoming one of my favorite guys here in Las Vegas Yeah, I seriously like this store 8) Check ‘em out on the internet – Infinite Arms – New Frontier Armory Have fun and stay tuned – more will surely be coming up in the future I don’t know what the cause of the trouble is, but something like 28 T3 circuits are down hard. It happened rather suddenly. A T3 circuit is 28 T1 circuits. A T1 circuit is 24 phone lines. These aren’t directly feeding customers – they’re the links over the network that makes up a city’s information infrastructure. More when I know more… UPDATE It looks to be coming back up, but no idea of the cause. Oh yeah, it was three OC-48 circuits. Let’s see if I can follow along on this one! Exciting news for sure — a meteorite fell from the sky in Virginia on Jan. 18th. The half pound rock was estimated to have been falling at approximately 200 mph when it hit the roof of the doctor’s office in Lorton, Virginia!! Thankfully no one was hurt when it crashed into the empty Examining Room No. 2, where the rock cracked into three pieces as it gouged the floor. The doctors gave it to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and, in return, Smithsonian officials planned to give them $5,000 in appreciation, upon which the doctors said they planned for the money to go to relief efforts in Haiti. Ok, hold it right there! Money?? Uh-oh. There’s money involved now. So now the landlords who own the building say, Oh, no, that’s our rock. According to the Washington Post, “Museum officials said the landlords informed them midday Thursday that they were coming to take the stone out of the Smithsonian by sundown.” But now the doctors have a lawyer who has sent a letter to the Smithsonian “barring them releasing the stone, pending resolution of ownership.” The Mutlu brothers, who are the landlords — honest, that’s their name – say “it is evident that ownership is tied to the landowner”. Oink, oink, greedy, greedy is what I say seems evident. NO OVERTIME YESTERDAY Still, I needed to get some sleep, but I wanted to get these pics posted so I’m going minimalist with the time I have on my breaks But I wasn’t just out and about to look at the clouds These folks are very professional, very knowledgeable, and they also have the lowest prices in town It’s not all guns – they’ve got plenty of camping/survival gear, too Now this is what I call awesome If you missed the link above, here’s one you can’t miss I also did a couple of stitched panoramas as well. Just thought y’all might like those Well, that’s about it for now so have a great day Cruising through my RSS subscriptions tonight, I found that Notes From The Resistance just posted the video for Gitsum and I figured I’d go check out Hogjaw’s page on MySpace and see what the guys are up to I also wound up navigating around their videos and found one I hadn’t seen before for one of the songs for Ironwood that was filmed at a performance at the famous Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles. It’s Hogjaw as I think of ‘em now – live and raw on stage
I love the song and the video, but I also have to post the video for Gitsum while I’m at it – it’s just too good to pass up an opportunity to post it again One other thing from their page – Ironwood is due out in March so I only have two more months to wait Keep on rockin’ guys |
