I had to go to Tehachapi for a doctor’s appointment today. On the way home I had to stop in Mojave. I take the Z612 along with me most of the time, now a days. With the hardware parked at Mojave Airport, it is good thing to do. One of those Ex Air Canada birds [...] We just got done pulling an engine from an F-16 Falcon. The young guy is Rod, one of my coworkers here at Edwards. The really good looking one in the ball cap is yours truly. So, I finally managed to get more (and I think the last) of the film developed from Aviation Nation 2009 I came across an article over on Military.com and thought it should be shared as widely as possible. It seems that Congress had a decent thought for a change and has directed the USAF to delay the retirement of its U-2 reconnaissance jets for a while longer. They’re still great jets with over 100 projected [...] These are the airplanes that I did final assembly wing mate, horizontal stab mate and production flight control rigging on. This included the aircraft pictured here. I did the rigging on the Model 40 number one. Folks, let’s just say that yesterday wasn’t the greatest in that I’m still not well. I talked to my sister today who’s a recently minted RN and she advised that I shouldn’t be too worried just yet and confirmed that I’m on the right path with going to see the doc again sometime early this [...] I found these wonderful videos from the British TV series “Top Gear” over at Theo Spark and for some reason I just thought of Buck That would be Buck from Exile in Portales After all, he likes aviation stuff and RVs, right ? With all that open space in [...] If you were hoping for fresh, original pictures from today, I apologize for disappointing you. If you like aircraft carriers, well, you’ll probably like today’s post I figured after all the Air Force jets Glenn’s been forced to suffer with it might be a nice change to put up a few pictures of [...] Most of my readers have been around for a while now and are probably familiar with my love of aviation and firearms For those who may be new, you might want to click here, here, here, and here. There’s more where those came from, too So, work today wasn’t much to write home about. I got one call in two hours and they cut us loose after two hours if we wanted to go. The only thing I’m at all unhappy about is that I had to wake up at a reasonable hour on a Saturday |
