Sorry for the delay everyone, but I was just flat worn out Sunday night and yesterday wasn’t the greatest day, either. I managed to get the pictures for this post edited and the panoramas stitched together, and uploaded, but getting them built into the post and captioned took a bit too much time. I finally [...] It’s that time of year again – Airshow Time Yes, it’s one of the things I look forward to the entire year. I get to have fun with firearms throughout the year, but I only get one weekend a year at Nellis AFB to enjoy the aircraft Before you get to the flight line, [...] The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was one of Nazi Germany’s most feared and respected fighter planes during WWII. There aren’t that many real ones still flying, but I found this great video of one of them in action. If you look at the cowling, you can see that the exhaust stacks are on the lower portion of [...] I say new, as in to me. It is basically a thirty year old airframe. Still works. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the rest of the posts up in the next couple of days I’ve also managed to get [...] I didn’t think it was getting that thin! Oh Well. Such is life Weapons guys. Just thought I would toss a few more out there for your viewing enjoyment. Just a few of a regular day at my corner of the world here at Edwards AFB. The thermometers are a recent addition. And I know how much Jeff wanted to see the temp during a normal day out here in the Mojave/Antelope Valley. Conversion done by Evergreen at Marana, AZ. Normally the field there is a boneyard, where airplanes go to die. But Evergreen has a large facility there doing maintenance and conversions. This is the most interesting conversion since the Aero Space Lines 377 Guppy and Super Guppy. It is a serious fire bomber. But don’t look [...] |
